>Keep children away from pool drains, pipes, and other openings to avoid entrapment.
>Have a phone close by at all times in case of an emergency.
>If a child is missing, always look in the pool first.
>Share safety instructions with family, friends, and neighbors. Post a pool rules sign neat the entry of the pool.
Have the Proper Equipment for your Pool or Spa
>Be sure your fence is at least four foot tall around your pool or spa and use self closing and latching gates, ask your neighbors to do the same at their pools.
>If your house opens to the back yard always install door alarms and always use them. For additional protection, install window guards on windows facing the pools or spa.
>Install pool and gate alarms to alert you when children go near the gate or pool.
>Ensure the pool or spa has the complaint drain covers, and ask your pool professional if you do not know.
>Maintain pool and spa covers if you close your pool and spa.
